TV Tune Out Week: Read a Screen with us this Saturday

For the second year in a row Mindovo is a proud participant of the the Winnetka Alliance's TV Tune Out Week.  The idea is a good one: get kids out from behind the TV and engaged in other activities.

In that spirit you are cordially invited to our "Read a Screen" event this Saturday, March 13th from 11AM to 3PM.

At the event we will turn your iPhone or iPod Touch into an e-book reader for free! Parents and kids alike will have the opportunity to experiment with the Amazon Kindle or you can bring your own e-book device and your questions.

A full 25% of all Mindovo Service Packs sold this Saturday will be donated to the Winnetka Alliance (of course, no purchase is necessary to participate in the event).  Let's beat last year's donation and learn about the future of books!

Flaws Reported in Google's Android Phones

From CNET's Android Atlas: "As much as I love Android, I can't help but think that we're all part of some large beta-testing project from Google. I'd really like to say that my overall experience has been flawless and that things work as intended every time. Unfortunately, though, that isn't true. As an Android owner from day one, I've come to expect these problems."  Read Article

Analyst Predicts No Verizon iPhone Until mid-2011

Clients have been asking us to predict when the iPhone will finally make its way to Verizon for years now.

Since we don't make predictions, our answer has typically been that the best place to wait for the iPhone to get to Verizon is with an iPhone running on AT&T. (Yes, it's that good. We switched away from Sprint/Nextel to get the iPhone when it first came out and haven't looked back.)

However, there are cases where family plans, corporate discounts, or fear of poor coverage keep people away from AT&T. Well, if any of these reasons apply to you it seems that at least one analyst over at Credit Suisse has got some bad news for you.

Jonathan Chaplin is predicting that the iPhone will not run on Verizon until mid-2011 according to a report in Barron's. That is more than a year off and runs counter to rumors that Verizon could get the iPhone as early as this summer.

However, all hope is not lost for Verizonites craving a superphone. If you're stuck with or choose to stick with Verizon for whatever reason there will soon be the Google Nexus One to consider.

Need Flash on the Go? We Know a Hero That Can Help You

If having access to Flash content on the go is critically important to you then you are out of luck with the iPhone. Neither the iPhone nor the soon to be released iPad support Flash.

But all hope is not lost.  Soon Adobe will be releasing Flash 10.1 which will bring the full flash experience to the Google Nexus One. In the meantime, there is the HTC Hero running Flash Lite - the first Android powered phone to run Flash of any kind.
